Hi! I’m Megan, a communications public relations professional based in Shreveport, Louisiana. I was born and raised in Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and graduated from Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a degree in Public Relations, a minor in Communication Studies, and a New Media Certificate.

 

During my time at UGA I learned so much through leadership roles with on-campus student groups, like the Pubic Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and my internships with Natalie Bradley Events in Athens, GA, and The Home Depot in Atlanta.

Following my graduation from UGA in May 2014, I became a Public Relations Intern at Georgia Aquarium and upon completion of my internship, became the Public Relations Coordinator. As the PR Coordinator, I assisted the Communications department with local Atlanta media relations, digital influencer relations, social media content creation and engagement, and supported long-term campaign communication efforts. It was an extremely interesting, fun and challenging environment that taught me lessons and fostered relationships both professionally and personally that I am forever grateful for.

Soon after getting married in August of 2017 my husband and I relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana. In November I began working as the Public Relations Coordinator at LSU Health Shreveport, an academic health sciences center home to the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health Professions and Graduate Studies. In my role as the PR Coordinator, I support the Director of Public Affairs, Communications, and Development and handle media relations, internal communications, and social media, as well as support branding compliance and marketing needs.

I have a passion for learning, connecting and sharing the unique stories of people and organizations. Through my experiences working at a non-profit conservation organization and an academic health sciences center, I have gained the skills and knowledge to be a proactive team member, creative thinker, and precise writer.

When I am not working or spending time with my husband and our two rescue dogs (Bernie and Bella), I enjoy reading, volunteering with community groups like the Humane Society of NW Louisiana and Junior League of Shreveport/Bossier, watching documentaries, trying to learn how to cook, and exploring my new home in Louisiana.
